Topic 01

Running an Audit Report

The Audit Report scans every element of your Google Business Profile and gives you a score based on completeness, quality, and consistency. Think of it as your profile's health check.

70 / 100

Your Profile Score

MagicBolt calculates a score based on completeness, photo quality, review volume, response rate, and keyword usage in your description.

0–50  — Needs urgent attention
51–75 — Room for improvement
76–90 — Good, keep optimising
91–100 — Excellent profile
01
Open Audit Report from your dashboard
Click the Audit Report card on your main dashboard. MagicBolt will begin scanning your connected Google Business Profile. This usually takes 10–30 seconds.
02
Review your overall profile score
At the top of the report you'll see your score out of 100. Below it, the report breaks down into categories — each showing what's complete, what's missing, and what needs improvement.
03
Understand the gap categories
The audit checks these key areas of your profile. Focus on high-priority gaps first as they have the most impact on your search ranking.
🏷️
Business name, category & description
Is your primary category correct? Does your description include relevant keywords like "cafe in Bhopal" or "co-working space"?
High
📸
Photos & videos
Profiles with 10+ photos get significantly more clicks. The audit checks photo count, recency, and quality.

🕐
Business hours & holiday hours
Are your opening hours up to date? Missing or incorrect hours cause customers to lose trust.

Website & contact links
Is your website URL correct? Do you have a phone number listed? Are menu or booking links added?

📍
Address & map pin accuracy
Is your map pin placed correctly on Google Maps? An off-centre pin confuses customers and hurts local ranking.

⚙️
Attributes & services
Features like "Free Wi-Fi", "Outdoor seating", "Accepts cards", "Co-working space" should all be ticked where applicable.

💡
Re-run the audit monthly. Your score changes as competitors update their profiles and as Google rolls out new profile features. A monthly audit keeps you ahead.

Topic 02

Optimisation — improving your profile quality

After your audit, the Optimisation section gives you specific, actionable recommendations. Here's how to work through them and what a well-optimised profile looks like.

✕ Before optimising
Generic business description with no keywords
Only 2 photos, all uploaded at launch
Primary category: "Restaurant" only
No attributes filled in
No menu or booking links
Holiday hours not updated
✓ After optimising
Description with local keywords and USPs
15+ high-quality photos, updated monthly
Primary + 3 secondary categories added
Wi-Fi, seating, cards, co-working all ticked
Menu link and table booking URL added
Holiday hours updated in advance
01
Open Optimisation from your dashboard
Click the Optimisation card. You'll see a prioritised list of recommendations based on your audit score, each with a clear action to take.
02
Work through high-priority items first
Items marked High Priority have the biggest impact on your search ranking. These typically include your business description, primary category, and photo count. Tackle these before anything else.
✏️
Writing your description: Include your city and neighbourhood naturally. Example — "Vikings Cafe is a vibrant café and co-working space on Minal Shopping Street, Bhopal. Famous for specialty coffee, fast Wi-Fi, and a relaxed work-friendly atmosphere."
03
Add secondary categories
Beyond your primary category (e.g. "Café"), add secondary categories that apply to your business. For Vikings Cafe, relevant options include: Coffee Shop, Co-working Space, Internet Café, and Sandwich Shop. More categories = more search queries you appear for.
04
Upload fresh photos regularly
Go to the Media section to upload photos. Aim for at least 3–5 new photos per month — interior shots, food/drink, team, events, and seasonal specials. Google favours profiles with recent, active photo updates.
📸
Photo tips: Use natural lighting. Photograph your best-selling dishes, your workspace setup, and any events you host. Avoid stock images — real photos perform better.
05
Check your score after each update
After making changes, go back to Audit Report and re-run the scan. Your score should increase with each set of improvements. Aim to reach 85+ within your first month.

Topic 04

Citation — local listing websites

Citations are mentions of your business name, address, and phone number (NAP) on other websites. Consistent citations across the web strengthen your local SEO and help Google trust your business information.

📖
Why citations matter: When Google sees your business listed consistently on Justdial, Sulekha, Yelp, and other directories — with the same name, address, and phone — it increases confidence in your listing and boosts your local search ranking.
01
Open Citation from your dashboard
Click the Citation card. You'll see a list of local and national business directories where MagicBolt can submit your business information.
02
Verify your business details are correct
Before submitting, double-check that your business name, full address, phone number, and website URL are exactly correct. Even small differences (e.g. "St." vs "Street") reduce citation effectiveness.
⚠️
Consistency is critical. Your NAP (Name, Address, Phone) must be identical across every directory listing. Inconsistencies confuse Google and can hurt your ranking.
03
Submit to recommended directories
MagicBolt will submit your business to a curated list of high-value directories relevant to your business type and location. Below are the most impactful ones for a café in Bhopal.
📒
Justdial
India's largest local search platform. Very high traffic for restaurants and cafes.

🧭

04
Track your citation status
The Citation dashboard shows which directories your business has been submitted to, which are live, and which are pending. Check back after 3–7 days as some directories take time to approve new listings.
🏆
Pro tip: The more consistent and widespread your citations, the stronger your local SEO. Aim to be listed on at least 10–15 directories within your first month. MagicBolt makes this a single-click process.
